2Social is the first company that I started and it has definitely been my pride and joy. I am very happy to say that it’s been a year of getting out of my comfort zone and getting to know something I never thought I would be able to accomplish a few years ago.
I have always wanted to be a business owner, I have always wanted to help small businesses because I am just so fascinated with the personality that a small business or start-up has.
When I was younger, school teaches you to think like a professional, standard person would. They would give you homework on science, english, math, and maybe some algebra, and you would go and do it. This really hindered my creativity, and even though I liked the challenge I wasn’t even aware that I could become an entrepreneur. One thing is for sure, they don’t teach you this in school!
I really wanted to start something that I can be proud of, something I could sink my teeth into, something I could picture myself doing for a very long time. It has been a great experience, and the small business world, especially in Toronto and Hamilton, has helped me prepare and benchmark my company to reach a better standard of operation.
If you are wanting to do something like start a project, the best thing I suggest is get out of your comfort zone, get in front of people, meet like minded people and you will be well on your way to becoming comfortable in that new unknown zone you stepped out into.
Get out of your comfort zone and do something you love.
I know I have, and I couldn’t be happier.
Happy Birthday, 2Social.
